    Yep, this is her...some might say a strange name for a dog, but it does happen to make a nice fit for my cooking blog. Anyone who knows spice would find it funny that she's my inspiration.. the only time she causes any trouble at all is when there's food nearby. She gets into more food than she should and can get quite protective (to put it nicely) if you try to get any food away from her. She often likes to 'help' in the kitchen, which is something we try our best to avoid.

    ... and here's Pepper. He was always destined to be named after food.. before we went to pick him out, we decided that our cat's name had to somehow 'fit' with Spice... our two preferred options were 'Meatball' (if he seemed like an exceptionally crazy kitten) OR 'sugar' (if he was quiet and cuddly and sweet)... turns out he was both, but neither name suited him. My kitchen assistant quickly came up with 'Pepper' and it was a perfect fit! Spice and Pepper soon became the best of buddies and the rest was history. The fact that their names are both cooking related is a lucky coincidence (again - need to give credit to my kitchen assistant on this one for his creativity)....however, I can proudly say that the cooking and photography from here on in are all mine.
